As the final leaves fall and the air turns crisp with winter’s hush, we at Silktopia invite you to step quietly into the ancient, whispering woodlands of Derbyshire — where time folds into mossy stone, and stories rise from the earth like mist.

This November, we’re delighted to unveil two designs from our forthcoming Echoes of the Peaks collection — a seasonal dreamscape inspired by the flora, folklore, and forgotten beauty of the Peak District. Each piece weaves illustrative storytelling with botanical precision, honouring the rich natural heritage of the British Isles.

Available Now: Luds Church – Floral

A romantic composition of wildflower reverie, Luds Church – Floral is a botanical love letter in silk. The design is set against a soft sage-green ground, evocative of the shaded glades within the chasm itself. Cream and dusty blue wildflowers — forget-me-nots, wood anemones, and delicate primroses — grow in soft placement, drifting gently from corner to corner, guided by butterflies and dragonflies in lazy orbit.

Encircling the scene is a fine floral border, delicately intertwined with poetic verse. There’s a tender nostalgia in the air, as if each bloom carries a whisper from the forest floor. It is a scarf to be cherished, worn, and passed through generations — a quiet, luxurious heirloom born of nature and verse.

The design is also now available as a fine-knit jumper for the colder months — a subtle touch of enchantment, rendered wearable.

In contrast, Luds Church – Woodland Flora captures the rich density of the forest undergrowth in full, resplendent bloom. With a deep navy border framing an all-over repeat of indigo florals on pure white ground, this piece draws upon traditional British block printing techniques. Here, you’ll find a symphony of leaves, ferns, violets, and brambles — densely packed yet finely composed.

This scarf harks back to vintage textiles of the Arts & Crafts era, with a modern hand-drawn elegance. The layered borders — ditsy, trailing, and orderly — create a sense of depth and enclosure, like stepping between standing stones into a secret grove.

The crisp contrast between navy and white gives this piece a tailored edge — equally at home paired with winter wool or carried into springtime suiting.

Looking Ahead: A Glimpse of What’s to Come

While only two designs are currently in print, the wider Echoes of the Peaks collection stirs quietly behind the scenes, ready to bloom in full come spring. Each piece is rooted in place and narrative — part historical echo, part wild imagination.

Georgian — With an ivory ground and Georgian-style florals in corals, blues, and golds, this design reimagines classical symmetry with a soft, trailing hand. An all-over block repeat lends it a refined rhythm — a stately garden set to silk.

Arnemetia — Drawing inspiration from the Roman goddess of sacred springs, this design features a central figure of Arnemetia pouring water, encircled by indigo florals and birds. The composition is painterly and precise, ideal for those drawn to symbolism and mythology.

Night at the Opera — Still in development, this nocturne design promises a lavish plunge into drama and ornament. Expect moonlit florals, jewel-toned opulence, and perhaps a hidden story or two waiting in the wings…
